Dr. J. Greg Hanson Selected for Fed 100 Award
Criterion Systems Executive Vice President for DoD/DHS, Dr. J. Greg Hanson, was selected to the prestigious Fed 100. Evaluating IT Security Return on Investment
Dr. J. Greg Hanson, Criterion Systems Executive Vice President, and former CIO for the U.S. Senate, will host an Information Management Forum on Wednesday December 10, 2008 at 2pm EDT, on the cost trade-offs involved with implementing an information security strategy. Dr. Hanson will engage the group on the issue of determining the point of diminishing returns on cost versus capability in the world of IT. The focus of his discussion is a proprietary methodology for systematically evaluating the trade-off between cost and security value, called return on security investment (ROSI).

Criterion-Built System Makes Voter Registration Easier For US Military Personnel, Their Families, and American Citizens Overseas
On July 23rd, the Federal Voting Assistance Program (FVAP) announced their new website, featuring an automated Voter Registration/Ballot Delivery capability built by Criterion Systems of Vienna, Virginia. For the first time, voters overseas have greater access to timely and accurate absentee voting information and an electronic alternative to the registration by mail process.

Thirty-three Washington-area government contracting industry firms and executives have been chosen by their peers as finalists for the 6th Annual Greater Washington Government Contractor Awards-an awards program some have dubbed the "Academy Awards of government contracting." The awards recognize the innovation, dedication, and commitment to excellence of the people and businesses in the region's government contracting community. The winners will be announced at a gala dinner on October 7th at the Ritz-Carlton in Tysons Corner, VA.

GSA Contract Award
The General Services Administration (GSA) Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) awarded Criterion a Time and Materials contract to provide FISMA Services and Support to:
- Review and document each OCFO application which provides data and require identity management and access control identifying needed improvements as well as observed deficiencies and their risks.
- Identify requirements and develop alternative solutions for annual application access recertification.
- Evaluate and recommend a best value solution or solutions using business case analysis methodologies such as Return on Security Investment (ROSI); and

Criterion Reaches Unique Agreement with Leading Search Companies
Criterion has completed a unique deal with both FAST Search & Transfer and Convera. The
agreement includes the following for Criterion: twenty one new contracts; the creation of a new
twelve person cleared search technology team; acquisition of a new center in Columbia, MD,
creation of a search and retrieval laboratory in our corporate location, a full partnership with
FAST on accounts in five major sectors including government and commercial; and ownership
of the leading search product, RetreivalWare, used in the classified community. “FAST has
quickly become a major partner of ours, and we have created an excellent working relationship
with them, as they move into the government market and expand their commercial American
client base,” said David Coxe, Senior Vice President & Corporate Development Officer. He

Don Goff, PhD, Named Vice President, Information Assurance & Training
We are pleased to announce that Dr. Don Goff has joined Criterion as Vice President,
Information Assurance & Training. Dr. Goff was the developer of the Security Studies
Laboratory at the University of Maryland University College, designated a Center of Excellence
by the National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security. Don is highly
respected as an advisor, consultant, educator, and business leader. He retired from AT&T and
the U.S. Army Reserve. |

Marjorie Windelberg, PhD, Joins Criterion
Dr. Marjorie Windelberg has joined Criterion as the Program Manager for the ‘National Do Not
Call Registry’ Program. The Federal Trade Commission’s NO CALL Program is noted as being

significant upgrade which Marjorie will lead. Among many other accomplishments, Marjorie led

The Industrial College of the Armed Forces, located in Washington, DC. invited Criterion to lead
