Job Summary:
Provide technical expertise in helping evaluate solutions based on product knowledge, while influencing the business decision making process. Developing an understanding of the critical success and failure drivers with enterprise search implementation. Advising on best practices when designing Enterprise Search solutions. Identifying possible project or application design decisions that might impact a client’s ability to fully realize their enterprise search strategy.
Position Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience and successful proven track record in Enterprise Search or Web Content Management technology.
- Knowledge and extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Enterprise Search products, including architecting, deploying and managing Enterprise Search environments.
- Experience with configuring SharePoint applications, administering SharePoint servers and customizing SharePoint applications to meet customer needs.
- Experience with application development and architecture experience for enterprise solutions.
- BS/BA degree or equivalent work experience combined with a Microsoft product certification or MCSE. MS/MBA degree preferred. Job Summary:
- In depth experience with one or more Enterprise Search technologies (e.g. MS FAST, Autonomy, Sinequa, Endeca, Mercado, MS Search Server 2007, Google Appliance).
- Technical knowledge of database or text retrieval and analysis products and technology
- Technical experience in enterprise search design and deployment of project
- Experience in developing enterprise applications built on either the Microsoft .NET framework or Java language
- Knowledge with one or more scripting languages (e.g. ASP, JSP, Python, Perl, etc)
- Have worked in the full project life cycle of at least one project from analysis through to implementation
- Good engineering practices (including unit testing, continuous integration and version control)
- Experience in Agile development
- Knowledge of hardware choice and configuration for enterprise search platforms, including options for fail-over and recovery
- Experience of integrating third-party search engines, such as FAST ESP, with SharePoint 2003/2007
- Experience of FAST content pipeline customization using Python scripting language, and custom pipeline solutions using FAST content API
- Understanding on the use of n-tier architecture, scalability and integration issues
- Detailed knowledge of working with RDBMS (SQL Server or Oracle) – database design, Indexing, Keys, Stored Procedures, T-SQL, Profiling
- A detailed understanding of web application development and internet technologies
- An innovative approach to developing solutions – thinking around the problem
- An interest in the software development community and keen to share ideas and code via blogs, forums or open source code site.
